Full site work for a new Culver's drive-thru. Demo, building pad, grading, base and paving, all done while the neighbors stayed open for business.
Pad to Pavement
Demo & Clearing
Tree removal, saw cutting, and demo of old asphalt, concrete, curb and light poles, kept separate for proper disposal.
Building Pad Over-Ex
Over-excavated the building pad 3 ft, got it verified, then backfilled and compacted in lifts.
Site Grading
GPS machine control ran the cuts and fills. Good dirt got hauled to another job as pad fill instead of the landfill.
Curb & Flatwork Grade
Cut curb, sidewalk, drive-thru and landscape island grades ahead of the concrete crew to keep the schedule moving.
ABC Base Course
About 1,600 tons of ABC placed and compacted to a 6 in. section, then tested before paving.
Paving & Closeout
Asphalt paving, patching, crack seal and striping touch-ups, then walked the punch list with the owner until it was done.
The Building Pad
Pad over-ex: 3 ft down corner to corner with a 5 ft blowout, checked by laser. Along the way we uncovered an abandoned interceptor about 8 ft deep.
Verified, then rebuilt in compacted lifts to 8 in. below finish floor. Here the footings are going in for the foundation.

A Busy Site That Never Shut Down
Dutch Bros and Outback next door stayed open the whole time. We built a rock access road to keep their customers and trash pickup moving, worked around the other trades, and kept grading through a wet winter.
Grade was set with GPS machine control and every layer went through compaction testing before the next one went down.
The Paving Process
Once the base passed testing, asphalt went down across the drives, stalls and drive-thru lane. We came back for patching, crack seal and striping touch-ups until the punch list was closed.
