Ground Up, In Order

Six phases on a tight commercial site, worked around concrete, utilities, and the vertical build.
01 / Layout

Utility Locating

Found every utility stub, manhole, and grease trap lid on site and marked them with a GPS rover before grading started.

02 / Grading

Site & Pad Grading

Graded the parking areas, the building perimeter, and the drive-thru curve, plus hand work on islands and planters to landscape grade.

03 / Import

ABC Import

Brought in ABC over two days of deliveries, roughly 400 tons a day, and placed it across both parking lots and the full drive-thru.

04 / Compaction

Moisture & Compaction

Moisture-conditioned and rolled every area, plate-tamped the edges, and checked grade with GPS before the pavers showed up.

05 / Tie-Ins

Saw Cut & Tie-Ins

Saw cut and removed existing asphalt where the new lot ties into the surrounding center, so new and old meet clean.

06 / Paving

Paving & Closeout

Stayed on through paving, curb touch-ups, and punch list, then handed over closeout docs and a warranty letter.

Working Around the Build

Grading While the Walls Went Up

With the foundation poured and the wood framing going up, our crew graded the building perimeter, parking, and drive-thru around it. Concrete crews, utility trades, and framers all shared the same small footprint, so we sequenced our work to keep everyone moving.

Dirt to Drive-Thru

The same drive-thru lane, before and after paving.
Before — Prep

The drive-thru lane before grading. Next up: bring it to grade and place ABC so asphalt can go down.

After — Paved

Fresh asphalt in place, sitting on a graded, compacted ABC base built to last under daily drive-thru traffic.

Mid-Project Adjustment

Holding a Section for the Utility Line

A new utility line had to run from the back of the building, through the drive-thru, and across the south entrance. Instead of paving over it, we held that section, paved the rest of the site on schedule, and came back once the trench was closed.

Here, our crew grades and compacts that last stretch of drive-thru so it's ready for asphalt, and it matches the rest of the lot.
